The Developmental Disabilities Provider Association (DDPA) appreciates Governor Sanders’s announcement expanding supportive living services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) on the CES Waiver waitlist. This expansion is a meaningful step toward delivering much-needed support to individuals and families who have been waiting for services.
DDPA recognizes the relief this expansion will bring to individuals with IDD and their families, while also recognizing that its success will depend on a provider system equipped to deliver services statewide. Expanded access must be supported by sufficient community-based capacity and a qualified direct-care workforce.
Our provider community is committed to working with the Governor, DHS, the PASSEs, and lawmakers to translate this announcement into reliable, life-changing services and a sustainable, responsive system of care for Arkansans with IDD. We look forward to working with DHS Secretary Janet Mann and her staff as they facilitate the Governor’s plan for this expansion.
