RA Announcement pages show that effective July 1, 2025, the medicaid system will cover procedure code 96112 U6 under the therapy contract for Comprehensive Autism Evaluation – but, I can’t find any additional information about this and I have a lot of questions. Our ST do give the CARS for children to diagnose autism – can they use this procedure code to bill for that? Is a separate rx needed for this? And, if so, which prescription form should be used for this? Are the evaluation report requirements the same as a therapy evaluation? Any additional information would be appreciated.
