Recently our EIDT was reviewed by DPSQA and we were cited for having employees in the building before there pertinent background checks and finger prints have all been approved. We explained that the ones we had just recently hired were not working with kids, but completing in-service while we awaited results. He explained that, basically they cannot even be in the building until we formally hire them after the results were all in and approved. We asked, what if we were to put a portable building on our property so the new employees could do the necessary in-service. He said it did not matter because if they had to come in and use the restroom that could lead to contact. So, since that is apparently the case, and other facilities have experienced similar citing’s, and/or warnings, what, if anything, can be done to gain employees?
