One of our preschools had a survey last week and DPSQA was questioning why contract therapists did not have new hire training and employee annual training to cover required topics such as health and safety practices, infection control, mandated reporter requirements, reporting incidents, etc. We explained that our employees all receive this training, but these specific therapists were on contract with us. We received a deficiency for EIDT Rule #303(a)(1-7) which discusses required training for employees. Has anyone else had a similar experience with contract therapists needing employee training?
Yes, we provide training to all of our contract therapists as well for this reason. Melissa Thomas Melissa.Thomas@accessgroupinc.org Yes, we do not typically provide training for our contract therapists, as they do their own training. but, on a visit a couple of years ago, we were cited for not requiring the new employee orientation and mandated reporter training, but it was never put in the report. We started requiring the therapists to do it at that point, but they have never asked for it again.
