A couple of our new hires at our EIDT, who do not have driver’s license have come back “not approved” on the criminal background check. They are both under the age of 21 as well. I am wondering if the reason they are “not approved” is because they have no license? And does anyone know a contact in this area we could talk with to clarify this issue? Any info. On this issue would be appreciated.
They should be able to get a state issued identification card. That identification card number can be used in place of the driver’s license number. I’ve had that work for me in the past.
We have a couple of gentlemen who don’t have a driver’s license, but a photo id issued by the state. We have not had any issues getting background checks. I hope this helps.
We do criminal record checks online, and we are ADDT not EIDT, but have had to get questions answered regarding “not approved” checks so the following is what info we can give.
Drivers license or ID number is required, even though when doing the check online it doesn’t ask for it, it is on the form that has to be notarized and sent in and must be on there or it won’t be approved. It’s on their website instructions, under “Identify the Person Whose Record You Seek”. On that section it states a DL or ID is required and has to be listed on the form. If the state police rejects it, the number to call is their main number and they get you to the right person. If it was DPSQA who rejects it (they have to approve them once the state police part is done) call their number, our experience with them is that it takes more time to reach someone and sometimes we have had to just leave a message and wait for a call back.
To our knowledge, they would go get just an ID Card to put in place of Driver’s Licenses.
I have always emailed questions regarding Not Approved statuses to Brinda Burr She will either tell me the error (such as missing information on the paperwork) or that they are not approved for a finding. Brinda Burr
