Co-pay information for individual families is determined by the PASSE based on each family’s Medicaid eligibility and cost-sharing tier. At the time this question was raised, providers noted that co-pay amounts were not consistently communicated to providers in advance.

Ways to obtain co-pay information:
1. **PASSE provider portal**: Log in to your PASSE’s provider portal — individual client benefit and cost-sharing information is often accessible there.
2. **PASSE provider services line**: Call with the client’s Medicaid ID to ask about their specific cost-sharing requirement.
3. **Remittance advice (EOB)**: After the first billing cycle, your remittance advice will show what the PASSE paid and whether a client cost-share applies.
4. **Family notification**: Some families receive co-pay information directly from the PASSE in their annual or enrollment notices — families can share this with your billing team.

Providers noted this was an area of frustration and encouraged DDPA to advocate with DHS/PASSEs for better advance notification of co-pay amounts to providers so billing can be set up correctly from day one of enrollment.
